La Fortuna Lodges Terms & Conditions

 

We are committed to keeping our visitors safe, and we always make sure that the lodges are thoroughly cleaned between guests. However we have added some extra measures to reflect the current situation, and for your peace of mind, here are details of our cleaning procedures which have been written in line with enhanced protocols developed for the tourist industry in June 2020.

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE LODGES IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF THE CORONA VIRUS, IF YOU HAVE DEVELOP SYMPTOMS WHILE STAYING AT THE LODGES PLEASE RETURN HOME IMMEDIATELY, IF YOU HAVE TO OVER STAY AT THE LODGES YOU WILL BE CHARGED AT THE NORMAL RATE.

 

Due to the Corvid-19 pandemic our cleaning team have extra measures in place.

INFORMATION FOR CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT 

when booking the lodges you agree to pay for any damages incurred by yourself or any of your party.

Your accomodation shall be inspected at check in by yourself and the manager any prior damages will be indentified by both, once you are both agreed you will sign the disclaimer agreeing to prior damages and to pay for any damages that occur during your stay in the property.

Please arrive and check in at the reception, we require a £250 cash security deposit for the larger lodges, £200 for the 3 bedroom lodges, this shall be returned at check out after both yourself and the  manager inspects the property.

Please treat the facilities & accomodation with due care so that the other guests continue to enjoy them. If you notice something is damaged let us know immediately so that we can take appropriate action.

Hot Tub Safety Document

To ensure the safe and enjoyable use of the hot tub that is provided with your holiday accommodation, we ask that you read through and adhere to the rules of this safety document.

 

 

  • During pregnancy soaking in hot tub may cause damage to the foetus so please contact your doctor for advice before entering the water.
  • Persons with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure or any serious illness should not enter the hot tub without prior consultation with their doctor.
  • People with skin, ear, genital or other body infections, open sores or wounds should not use the hot tub because of the possibility of spreading infection.
  • Parents are advised that the hot tub are not suitable for children under the age of 4 years old.
  • Parents are to warn children not to allow water in their mouths as this can cause infection and illness.
  • The heat of the hot tub water speeds up the effects of alcohol and cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness.
  • Never use the hot tub while using narcotics or other drugs that may cause drowsiness, sleepiness or raise/lower your blood pressure.
  • At 39/40 C limit your time in the hot tub to a maximum of 20 minutes, as extending this time can affect your inner organs can cause fever like conditions. At 36/37 C this time can be extended as this is body temperature and there is no risk.
  • Do not immerse your head in the hot tub water. This increases the risk of infection and can heighten the dangers of drowning due to suction below the water line.
  • Never use the hot tub alone. Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub. When leaving the hot tub leg muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady.
  • Never use glass near or in the hot tub, as broken glass can cause risk to people in bare feet and is very difficult to see within the hot tub.
  • Do not use any electrical appliances near or in the hot tub.
  • If any fault or damage occurs with the hot tub, please contact the owners of your property at the earliest convenient moment.
  • Shower with soap and water before and after using the hot tub. Showering before use washes away many of the common skin bacteria and removes lotions, deodorants, creams, etc., which reduce the effectiveness of the spa sanitizer which disinfects the water.
  • Make sure fake tan is removed before using the hot tub as this reacts to the chemicals and reduces the effectiveness of the spa sanitizer which disinfects the water. It also colours the water and marks the waterline of the hot tub.
  • Never allow children to use the hot tub unsupervised and when not in use make sure the cover is on and secure.
  • Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal.
  • Avoid entering the hot tub water immediately after exercising as the water temperature can affect the heart rate.
  • Take care on the hot tub steps as water from the tub can cause them to be slippery.
  • If any allergic reaction occurs leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. If reaction persists, contact a local doctor or A&E. There is a list in the information pack in your accommodation.
  • Ensure no contaminants ie. Bubble bath, alcohol, oil etc are placed in the water as this can upset the chemical balance of the water and can result in allergic reactions.
  • Do not turn the hot tub isolation switch off at the electricity point as the power needs to be turned on to carry out the cleaning cycles.

Note to hot tub users and Parents

It is your responsibility to enforce the rules of safety with in the property hot tub.

When you booked your accommodation, you agreed to our terms and conditions, the hot tub safety requirements stating that you agree to abide by the rules and take care in the use of the hot tub for yourself and guests.

 

The life and health of you, your family and friends are important. Please practise safety and supervise your hot tub in line with these safety guidelines.

Please Note

For health and safety reasons we must clean the hot tub before each set of guests, therefore, when you arrive your hot tub may not be up to the optimum temperature. You do not to do anything as the hot tub will be switched on and set to the correct temperature. We are sorry for any inconvenience, but it is important that your hot tub is properly prepared for your use.

To comply with HSE regulations, the hot tub water will be checked during your stay. Please ensure the hot tub cover is clear for this testing to be carried out.

We hope you enjoy your stay and get most from your hot tub while you are with us.

There are private hot tubs in all four lodges open from 10am - 9pm. There has to be no more than 5 guests at one time in the private hot tubs and no splashing , the hot tubs are to relax in..Do not take any glass or food in to the hot tubs. broken glass in or around the hot tub can result in a serious injury to other guests, therefore a charge of £100 will be required to refill the ht tub. No children under 16 are permitted in the hot tub unless accompanied by an adult. WE SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYONE TAKING CHILDREN INTO THE HOT TUB. If the water is contaminated by guests or guests have reduced the water levels to excess with splashing etc and require to be emptied, there will be a refilling charge of £100 and guests will be prohibited from using the hot tub for the remaining length of thier stay

RESERVATIONS, DEPOSITS, REFUNDS

When making a reservation, an initial deposit of 25% of the final rental price is required. This is part of the full rental charge. The balance of which must be paid six weeks prior to arrival.  Lodges can be booked online by credit or debit card. If booking more than one lodge BACS transfer is preferred. If we do not receive the balance 6 weeks prior to arrival after we have contacted  the person who booked then we will presume that you no longer require the lodge, you will then loose the deposit

If the hirer cannot make the reservation because of adverse weather conditions then you will be able to postpone the lodge for another date at the same tariff.

Infants requiring cots (and not beds) shall not be charged.

The hirer in any of the following paragraphs is deemed to be the person who made the reservation.

Our receipt of your deposit guarantees you’re reservation. In turn you are financially responsible for the entire reservation. Should you need to cancel, we will refund you’re deposit less a £50 handling fee only if notified within 45 days prior to arrival. If you are unable to give us 45 days notice, we will make every effort to book you’re space to another party. If we are successful, only then will you receive a refund minus £50 handling fee.

Notice of cancellation should be made immediately by telephone, then confirmed by email to Mairi Massa.

NO STAG PARTIES

Bookings by persons under 23 years of age cannot be accepted.

No fires are to be lit on any part of the grounds or surrounding land.

No caravans may be parked on the grounds.

The booking is made in good faith in the belief that the lodges will be placed at your disposal for the type and dates stated, if for any reason this is not possible through circumstances not under our control (e.g. fire theft or damage) we cannot guarantee to provide an alternative lodge. In such an event the deposit will be refunded in full and as such you will have no claim against the proprietor. The proprietor reserves the right to alter or amend the facilities or amenities available without prior notice.

The hirer shall allow the lender entry to the properties for all reasonable purposes.

No pets are allowed in ANY of the lodges.

We ask that the lodges are left in a clean and tidy condition and that should any items be accidentally broken or damaged that you undertake to replace or repay. Fair wear and tear excepted.

The number of people occupying the hired lodges must not exceed the numbers stated on booking, 

The hire property shall be used solely for holiday purposes and the hirer shall not sub-let the properties or any equipment hired to the hirer.

Smoking is not allowed within the lodges.

No liability is accepted by La Fortuna Lodges for loss or damage to hired or guests property, baggage, motor car, etc., however caused nor for any accident or mishap to persons whilst on the premises. The owner reserves the right to refuse admission of persons or pets, If Guests are causing a disturbance/nuisance which upset the peace and tranquillity on the site, they shall be asked to leave the premises imediately with no refund.
